Navi Mumbai: A young Malayali woman who had been wandering in the Vashi-Nerul area was taken back to the SEAL Ashram in Panvel. Crucial information regarding the woman became available following a report published by ‘WhatsApp Mumbai’ yesterday morning.

The young woman went missing from the ashram on March 25 of this year. She had previously been admitted there due to some mental health issues and went missing while her condition was improving under treatment.

Railway official Seema Pillai informed social worker S. Kumar about a young woman who was wandering in the Vashi-Nerul area. S. Kumar subsequently shared this information with ‘WhatsApp Mumbai’. The young woman was found after a continuous two-day search conducted by Vashi railway station official Seema Pillai, S. Kumar, the RPF, and other security personnel.

Upon noticing the news, officials from the Seel Ashram and, shortly thereafter, a close relative of the young woman shared information via ‘WhatsApp Mumbai’. Subsequently, around 5 PM today, officials from the Seel Ashram took custody of the young woman in the presence of her parents and brought her back to the ashram.

The young woman’s parents expressed their special gratitude to railway official Seema Pillai and social activist S. Kumar for playing a pivotal role in locating the missing woman. The efforts of Station Manager Ravindrakumar Ravi—who coordinated the RPF team and effectively guided the search—and team member Beena Nair also proved immensely helpful.

The SEAL Ashram in Panvel is a sanctuary that offers a loving haven to the destitute, the sick, and the abandoned found on the streets of Mumbai. This organization identifies individuals who have been forsaken and are wandering without anyone to care for them, providing them with proper care, medical treatment, and food, while helping them reclaim their lives.

SEAL serves as a haven for hundreds of individuals facing physical and mental challenges and is also notable for its humanitarian efforts in reuniting those who have regained their health with their families.
