Celebrate #OnamOpulence: 8th Grand Gala on August 22 at Seawoods Nexus Mall
Seawoods Malayali Samajam and Nexus Mall invite the city to a dazzling Onam celebration — featuring, for the first time in Seawoods, the thunderous presence of Poothan and Thira.
Onam Opulence, a theme-based cultural festival, will take place on August 22, 2026, at Nexus Mall, Seawoods — located in the atrium of one of Asia’s largest railway station complexes.
A breathtaking floral spectacle and a vivid presentation of Poothan and Thira will bring Kerala’s folklore to life.
Poothan and Thira, the colorful folk guardians of Valluvanad, will make a dramatic entrance in traditional costume, dancing to pulsating rhythms inside the mall.
With broad public participation and a riot of colour, Onam Opulence, organised by Seawoods Malayali Samajam, remains one of Mumbai’s most celebrated and artistically rich Onam events.
This year also marks a special Silver Jubilee collaboration: Seawoods Malayali Samajam and Nexus Mall join hands to present a mega floral decoration alongside a curated cultural programme.

Purpose and reach
Onam Opulence celebrates the legends and culture of Kerala while welcoming people from all states. For years the Samajam’s huge floral displays have supported flood‑affected Kerala and attracted one of the city’s highest non‑Malayali participations.
#OnamOpulence is also a social media favourite, generating extensive digital engagement and reels.
This year’s display is approaching record scale and promises a memorable tribute to Kerala’s heritage.
