Thane: The Thane City District Congress Committee staged a satyagraha protest against the alleged ‘purification’ of a venue using Gangajal following Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s rally in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. The Congress accused the act of exposing the BJP’s casteist and regressive mindset.

Led by Thane Congress President Rahul Pingale, the protest was held outside the party’s city office. The Congress criticized the BJP, stating that purifying a venue after the presence of a Dalit leader is an insult to constitutional equality and a violation of Sanatana values. State office-bearers and members of various party cells participated in the demonstration.
