Thane: The Thane District Congress has launched a strong protest against the Central Government over the alleged NEET-UG examination paper leak. As part of the nationwide “Chhatron Ki Goonj” (Students’ Voice) campaign initiated under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the Thane District Congress has come forward to raise its voice for students. Accusing the paper leak of shattering students’ confidence, the Congress demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him morally accountable for the controversy.
Speaking at a press conference organized by the Thane District Congress, party leaders strongly condemned the alleged irregularities surrounding the NEET examination. They asserted that repeated failures in the examination system are jeopardizing the future of millions of students while causing immense psychological and financial distress. The Congress demanded a comprehensive, impartial, high-level investigation into the examination scam, strict action against those responsible, and immediate reforms to the country’s examination system.
Thane City District Congress Committee President Rahul Pingle said that recurring issues such as question paper leaks, cancellation of examinations, delays in announcing results, and irregularities in recruitment processes have sparked widespread resentment among the country’s youth. He stated that the future of students who dedicate years of hard work to competitive examinations is being ruined by such examination mafias.
Referring to the earlier Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak incident in Thane, Rahul Pingle demanded stringent action against the masterminds, officials, examination mafias, and those allegedly protecting them to ensure that such incidents do not recur. He also called for the restructuring of examination agencies, including the National Testing Agency (NTA), and urged the government to publish a fixed annual calendar for competitive examinations.
The press conference was attended by Vijeta Academy Director Satish Jadhav, Seva Dal President Ravindra Koli, Block President Ajinkya Bhoyar, Manoj Dubey, Rajesh Mishra, Tarun Singh, Adv. Manoj Dakwe, Gopal Sawant, and other party office-bearers. Vijeta Academy Director Satish Jadhav appealed to the public to extend their support to the “Chhatron Ki Goonj“ campaign launched by Rahul Gandhi.
As part of the campaign, large-scale protest programmes have been planned in 28 cities across the country from June 30. The campaign will include direct interaction with students, distribution of pamphlets, awareness drives, and discussions in colleges and libraries. Rahul Pingle also informed the media that the next phase of the agitation would include marches to District Collectorates and a “Delhi Chalo“ protest march to intensify pressure on the Central Government.
