India Under-19 will face Afghanistan Under-19 in the second semi-final of the Under-19 World Cup 2026 on Wednesday, February 4, at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. Led by Ayush Mhatre, India have enjoyed a flawless campaign so far, winning all their matches convincingly. The Men in Blue began with a six-wicket win over the USA, followed by an 18-run victory against Bangladesh. India then topped Group B after defeating New Zealand by seven wickets.
Their dominant form continued in the Super Six stage, where they registered emphatic wins over Zimbabwe and arch-rivals Pakistan to secure a semi-final berth. Afghanistan, captained by Mahboob Khan, have also impressed in the tournament. They opened their campaign with a win over South Africa and went on to defeat West Indies and Tanzania to finish first in Group D.
Although Afghanistan suffered a loss against Sri Lanka in the Super Six stage, they bounced back strongly with a massive 191-run victory over Ireland. While India enter the contest as favourites, Afghanistan’s ability to challenge stronger teams makes them a dangerous opponent.
The Harare Sports Club has offered balanced conditions, with teams chasing enjoying slightly better success. The semi-final is expected to be a competitive and high-pressure contest, with a place in the final against England at stake.
