Daldal Teaser: Bhumi Pednekar Stars in a Dark, Gory Crime Thriller

The teaser for Prime Video’s upcoming crime thriller Daldal dropped on Friday, giving viewers a glimpse of what promises to be one of the most intense Indian shows in recent years. Bhumi Pednekar plays a cop on the trail of a deranged killer, and the teaser has already left audiences calling it ‘disturbing’.

The 60-second teaser opens with a stark warning: “Viewer discretion advised.” It then dives into a series of unsettling visuals, featuring blood, gore, and brutal acts of violence. Bhumi is shown hunting a killer who not only murders his victims but also mutilates their corpses in horrifying ways. The montage continues with scenes of torture and a burning victim, before shifting to Bhumi reflecting on a traumatic memory from her school days. The teaser concludes with her intense gaze into the camera.

Storyline
Daldal is set in Mumbai and follows Rita Ferreira (Bhumi Pednekar), the newly appointed DCP of the Mumbai Crime Branch, as she faces a ruthless killer in a tense battle of survival. The series also stars Samara Tijori and Aditya Rawal in key roles. Viewers have compared its tone to shows like Paatal Lok and True Detective, with many calling it deeply unsettling.

Adapted from Vish Dhamija’s bestselling book Bhendi Bazaar, Daldal is an Abundantia Entertainment production created for series by Suresh Triveni and produced by Vikram Malhotra and Triveni. The series is directed by Amrit Raj Gupta, with writing credits to Triveni, Sreekanth Agneeaswaran, Rohan D’Souza, Priya Saggi, and Hussain Haidry. Daldal will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 30.
