Two girls die after falling into lake: Thane Congress protests against TMC’s negligence

Thane: The Congress party has strongly criticized the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), alleging a severe security lapse in the tragic incident where two young girls lost their lives after falling into the Jogila Lake on Ambedkar Road in Uthalsar, Thane. The deceased children have been identified as Gangi Uday Kami (7) and Asha Ganesh Kami (4), both residents of the Lorry Stand Chawl.

Congress leaders launched a fierce protest against the negligence of TMC officials, claiming that the lack of proper safety fencing or barricades around the lake led to the accident. Thane Congress President Rahul Pingale accused the corporation, stating that the continuous failure in executing years-long renovation works and the absence of adequate safety measures are causing such tragic incidents.

The Thane Congress has demanded the immediate installation of strong safety fences and warning boards around high-risk lake areas, alongside swift action against the responsible officials. Following the report of the incident, the Rabodi police have initiated an investigation.
