Mumbai Police arrested Kamaal R Khan (KRK) after he allegedly fired four rounds from his licensed firearm, which hit a residential building in Andheri where writer-director Neeraj Kumar Mishra resides.

Mumbai Police have taken actor and self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal R Khan, widely known as KRK, into custody for allegedly firing four gunshots at a residential building in Andheri, where writer-director Neeraj Kumar Mishra resides.

Khan was detained from his studio late Friday night and formally arrested after questioning. During interrogation, he reportedly admitted to firing the shots on January 18 using his licensed firearm, which has since been seized by the police.

The motive behind the incident is still unclear. Police said Khan claimed he had no intention of causing harm and stated that the gunfire occurred while he was cleaning and testing the weapon. He told investigators that he aimed towards a mangrove forest in front of his house, assuming it was a safe direction.

According to Khan, strong winds caused one of the bullets to travel beyond the mangrove area and strike a building in Oshiwara. Officials confirmed that Neeraj Kumar Mishra lives on the second floor of the building, while model Prateek Baid resides on the fourth floor.

Police said they initially had no leads regarding the shooter, but further investigation later pointed to Khan. He remains in police custody as the probe continues.
