Meta and Oakley have officially introduced the Oakley Meta Vanguard in India, marking the debut of a new athlete-focused category of Performance AI smart glasses, priced from ₹52,300.

Designed for sports and active lifestyles, the smart glasses are powered by the Meta AI app, enabling users to ask questions and receive real-time insights through voice commands.

The Oakley Meta Vanguard features a hands-free 12MP camera with a 122-degree ultra-wide lens, capable of recording videos in up to 3K resolution. Camera modes include slow motion, hyperlapse, and adjustable image stabilization. For audio, the device is equipped with open-ear speakers that are six decibels louder than the Oakley Meta HSTN, along with a five-microphone array for clearer voice capture.

In terms of battery performance, the company claims up to nine hours of regular usage and six hours of continuous audio playback. The accompanying charging case extends total usage by an additional 36 hours, while a 20-minute fast charge delivers up to 50% battery power.

Additional features include hands-free voice interactions, UPI Lite payment support, and a celebrity AI voice option featuring Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone, similar to earlier Meta AI glasses launched in India. Through the Meta AI app, users can also select Hindi language support.

The smart glasses are designed for comfort and adaptability, offering three interchangeable nose pads for a customized fit. They are also optimized for use with cycling helmets and hats, catering to athletes and outdoor enthusiasts.

Commenting on the launch, Caio Amato, Global President of Oakley, said the Oakley Meta Vanguard represents a new benchmark in performance eyewear, combining advanced technology with Oakley’s legacy of innovation to enhance human potential.

The Oakley Meta Vanguard full collection, starting at ₹52,300, is now available across leading optical stores, including Sunglass Hut and LensCrafters.
