A young man was tragically killed in a tiger attack near the Ramnagar area close to Corbett Tiger Reserve, sparking renewed concern about rising human‑wildlife conflicts in the region. Forest officials discovered the man’s remains late Saturday night, including clothing and shoes, during a routine patrol in the Kosi range’s Bela Beat area. Tiger pugmarks were found at the site, confirming an encounter with the big cat.
This is now the fifth fatal big cat incident in Uttarakhand within just over two weeks, following similar attacks in Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri, and Almora districts. Local residents are alarmed, and many are reconsidering travel routes and forest visits after dark.
